Humphreys, CEO of Atticus Real Estate, has been in the real estate/ acquisition/development business for over 25 years. He began his real estate journey by purchasing several lots in Vail, CO during the 1990-1991 recession. This transaction turned out to be his first major real estate development. His skills as a renowned architect give him the ability to identify real estate opportunities on a grander scale. He was able to develop the Vail lots and ultimately lead them out of the recession and transform them into resort-style homes to be sold a very high premium.
Mr. Humphreys also serves as Chairman and CEO of the One Humphreys Family of Companies, which includes Atticus Real Estate Services, Humphreys & Partners Architects, HPA Design Group, HP Civil Engineering, and Glass Recycled Surfaces.
Locket serves as the Executive Assistant to the Atticus CEO, Mark Humphreys. Joining the team in early 2020, she brings over 24 years of experience as a professional executive assistant and proven performance under high-pressure environments. Locket successfully executes administrative tasks while maintaining strong client relations.
With extensive knowledge of office management experience and effective handling of client inquiries, she assures the smooth administrative operation of Atticus Real Estate. She plays a vital role in ensuring our leadership team is prepared, equipped and ready for the demands of the real estate industry.
Vice President of Accounting
Salas joined the Atticus team in 2020 and is responsible for all accounting processes at Atticus Real Estate. He manages financial planning, accounting practices, payroll, and insurance plans. His expertise is in the accounting sector includes cost, revenue, general ledger accounting, project financing, sales, and use tax.
Salas has over eight years of experience in accounting and a combined five years in real estate. He attended Alcorn State University on a football scholarship where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He later attended Texas A&M University where he received his master’s degree in business administration.
Vice President of Marketing
After 3 years of working as a strategic marketing partner for Atticus’s 30A Resort, The Pointe, Tanya joined the Atticus team full-time and now oversees all marketing strategies and tasks for the company’s developments.
Along with a Bachelor of the Arts in Advertising and Public Relations, as well as an MBA with a marketing emphasis, Tanya also brings 17 years of experience across multiple industries to the team. Having worked in all aspects of the customer experience, including lead generation, customer service, marketing, sales, and communications, Tanya is committed to making sure that the right message is sent, to the right people at the right time.
Tanya’s marketing and customer experience philosophy can best be summed up by Maya Angelou’s quote, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Vice President of Development
Guerrero’s experience is focused in the national hospitality industry. Within 14 years, he has successfully opened and overseen six restaurants, which span from fast-casual to fine dining. His responsibilities include developing new hospitality concepts, creating and executing menus, commercial kitchen design, brand expansion, operations, and controlling financials.
With a business background from the University of Mississippi along with a degree in Science from the Texas Culinary Academy, Michael has held diverse titles responsibilities such as Executive Chef, Culinary Director, and Director of Operations with Dallas’ leading restaurant groups. Guerrero has elevated business growth, consolidated operational costs, and selected cutting-edge design concepts to be competitive in the national market. His approachable nature epitomizes hospitality. He brings a forward-thinking portfolio to the Atticus team.
Chavez joined Atticus Real Estate in January 2017, as the Multi-Property Manager. She oversees a diverse range of properties across the US, including vacation rentals, commercial, and residential. At each location, Chavez manages commercial and residential properties, tenant relations, building operations, and construction supervision.
She serves as the main point of contact for the owner and property management companies, as well as oversees lease administration, vendor relations, and leasing.
Prior to joining Atticus, Chavez worked as an Assistant Property Manager for several large multi-family properties.
Manager of Real Estate Acquisitions & Development
Gibson joined the Atticus team in September of 2015 as an executive assistant. She provides high-quality administrative and clerical assistance to top-level executives and works with outside brokers, lenders and title agencies to execute transactions. Gibson also supports all facets of real estate development, financing, and construction.
She possesses a demonstrated history of working in the architecture & planning industry and is skilled in budgeting, client communication, customer satisfaction, invoicing, and event planning. Gibson received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge.
Marketing Project Manager
Joining the Atticus team in 2020, Adkisson serves as the main point of contact for media relations and overall communications for Atticus Real Estate & Hospitality Group. She is responsible for the marketing strategy and execution of Atticus’ properties across the nation.
With over four years of proven experience in strategic communications and three years in the luxury resort industry, she has successfully increased brand awareness through digital media strategy, website management, content development, brand management, and campaign creation and implementation.
Graduating from the University of North Texas, Adkisson received her B.A. in Journalism with a concentration in Strategic Communications, and a second B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Business Management.
Taunton joined the Atticus team in 2020 as a staff accountant where she oversees and executes a diverse range of accounting disciplines including maintaining the general ledger, reviewing financial statements, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits, budgeting processes, and reconciling accounts.
With over 30 years of experience in accounting in the real estate sector, Taunton brings years of expertise to our team. Studying accounting at The University of Texas at Dallas, she quickly grew in her love of numbers and brings financial stability to multiple projects managed across the nation.
Director of Maintenance
Baca has over 28 years of property management, construction, and real estate expertise. He plays a key role in the overall presentation of Atticus properties and specializes in both residential and commercial maintenance to ensure the overall safety, appearance, and maintenance in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local requirements. He updates and maintains various properties for safety and security as well as collaborates with contractors and vendors to guarantee that each property meets current building codes, safety standards, and ADA compliance.
Baca’s expertise also extends to warranty coverage, procurement, and bid management. Prior to joining Atticus Real Estate, he built and preserved homes and apartments around Corrales, New Mexico and is certified and trained in HVAC, OSHA, and First Aid.
