A new option in luxury living came to 30A when The Pointe on 30A welcomed its first guests on Thursday.

The Pointe is a 68-unit luxury condo development at the eastern corner of 30A and U.S. Highway 98. It was built by developer Mark Humphreys of Dallas, and his partners, the Moriah Group.

Humphreys knew he wanted a Caribbean, yet modern feel to what he built and visited a dozen resorts in Napa and the Caribbean to get a feel for what he wanted his to look like.

He left natural landscaping around the property and on entry, guests are greeted by fire bowls and LED lighting.

The lobby is open to a large, resort-style pool with a sitting area and palm trees in the middle. The pool area also has a hot tub and fireplace. There is a gym that looks out onto the pool deck, as does an adult conversation area with TVs dubbed La Cava.

A grassy area large enough to hold a tent for weddings or other events has grills.

Two of The Pointe’s units have fenced outdoor areas and plunge pools.

There are 46 two-bedroom units of 1,200 square feet, and 22 three-bedroom units of 1,900 square feet, and all come fully furnished, right down to the kitchen utensils, all with sleek, contemporary lines. Every unit has all-gas cooktops, and there is a washer/dryer in every unit.

Two restaurants are planned for the site — one adjoins the pool for casual poolside dining, and an upscale Tex/Mex restaurant is planned for the corner.

Humphreys has owned a second home in Rosemary Beach for several years. Realizing that the area was about to explode, he began trying to purchase the key property several years ago.

“It was difficult to buy,” he said. “This is the last property like this one on 30A. This is a personal project for me. I have never worked so hard. This is my baby.”

Sales start Feb. 1 through Chris Abbott at Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty, and rentals are through ResortQuest.
